Free Fire July 2022 Update: Notes with new map, weapon, characters, pets and more
New OB35 version arrives this Wednesday, July 20th and will bring a new interface to Garena's battle royale
The countdown to the Free Fire July 2022 update is underway. Garena confirmed the release date of the new version, and players are finding it difficult to control the excitement until launch.
At first, the official notes of the update are not yet available, but Free Fire Mania has already confirmed several news exclusively and so it is possible to know most of the changes that are coming to Free Fire . This gave players an idea of what to expect in terms of content, including a new firearm, a new map, UI improvements, and more.
Free Fire July 2022 Update (OB35) Initial Notes
Overall, Garena revealed the following features and additions as part of the Free Fire OB35 update in the latest episode of “ Speak, Free Fire ”:
new map
A new map will enter the game, and Garena has launched a first look at the next battleground. This map will be different from the existing ones in the game and will introduce new graphics along with several special mechanics. Users will be able to find things like Anti-Gravity Zones , which will allow them to take high jumps, shoot in the air and much more.
Magic Portals
Magic Portals on the map will be another new mechanic that helps individuals rotate and flank enemies.
Specific locations on the map will be connected by magic portals, allowing for quick travel from one point to another. This is particularly useful for competitive competitive tactics.
Weapon - Bison
Weapons are one of the essential parts of Garena Free Fire , and new ones have been added to the game periodically. The latest update will bring another weapon in the form of “ Bison ” (Bizon in English), which will belong to the SMG class.
This particular firearm was available on the Advanced Server, where players were able to try it out. It basically does tremendous damage but has low stability.
Contra Squad new season
Once the new version is available on July 20th, it will soon be followed by the start of the new season of Contra Squad. A rank reset will take place and all players must start grinding again if they wish to level up.
As always, the developers will be offering a unique weapon skin, the Golden AC80 , to anyone who reaches the Gold III rank. In addition, there will be numerous other rewards up for grabs.
New pet Arita (Owl)
According to Free Fire Mania sources, the skill of the new pet Arita (Owl) increases the range and duration of skills or items that scan the area. No recharge time.

New character Iris
At first, the skill of the new character Iris in Free Fire is called " Tracker " and has the objective of branding and damaging opponents who are hiding behind the Gel Walls .

New War Chest and Super Medic Kit
Now, the war chest has undergone changes and will have 3 levels. Players can level up the chest and improve their items using FF tokens, the famous coins used in the shop.
Additionally, in the Level 3 War Chest, players will find a new Super Medical Kit , capable of fully healing the user's health, regardless of how badly injured they are.
Other changes
Here are the other features the update will bring:
- UI Optimization : The entire UI will be changed, giving the game a completely new look. Essentially, developers will update UI elements such as fonts, animations, icons and logos.
- Daily Quests : Daily tasks allow users to receive a wide variety of free rewards. After the Free Fire OB35 update, Garena will optimize them with more tasks and items.
- Replay Highlights : This feature allows individuals to download their previous matches in the battle royale title. As a result, players can easily review their games and edit them.
- Command Wheel : With the new update, the developers plan to incorporate command wheels for medical kits and throwables (grenades). Consequently, players will be able to use them faster.
- Weapon Tweaks : Several weapons are set to be improved and nerfed in the Free Fire July 2022 update to provide balanced firefights to players. The ones that will introduce changes are the G36, M24, M1887, FAMAS-III, SCAR, M14-III and UMP.
- Smart Cast : A feature to quickly cast Walls of Gel will also be added. After their addition, users will be able to place them easily.
- Character balancing : Hayato and Joseph nerfs, plus Andrew, Nikita, and Antonio improvements are the main character changes for the July 2022 FF update.
