Free Fire 2023 update: despite the update, the server will not close this Wednesday (31)
Players will be able to continue the game during Garena's Battle Royale update process

The Free Fire update , which takes place at dawn on May 31, 2023, will be the first in history in which the game servers will not be closed. Exclusive sources from the Free Fire Mania website have confirmed that the change from the OB39 to OB40 version will happen with the open servers .
At first, players will be able to play with either the old or new version until June 2nd. In other words, during the first 48 hours after the update , both versions (OB39 and OB40) will have access to the game, when only on the 2nd of June everyone will be forced to update Garena 's Battle Royale APK.
It is worth noting that the OB40 version will be updated for Free Fire this Wednesday, May 31st . This will help optimize the players' experience, it will be the first time that Free Fire will not need to close for maintenance for a whole day . New stage of FF update
During the period from May 31st to June 2nd, players will be able to optionally update Free Fire to the new version (OB40), only after June 2nd will they be required to update the game's APK.
During this period, the Free Fire server will NOT be closed, players can experience OB39 normally (by selecting the “update later” button), however, some of the following features will not be available until the update to OB40:
- ranked mode
- Graphics
- Profiles of other players
- Achievements System
- pass Booyah
- new lobby
- in-game events
- Cannot play with players who have logged into the OB40 version
This is to ensure that players' gaming experience is uninterrupted and each player can choose the update time they want. However, we recommend that you update to the new Free Fire OB40 version as soon as possible to experience the most optimized features.
When will the Free Fire update be mandatory?
- Estimated time: From 5:00 am on 02.06.2023 (the above time will be subject to change beforehand)
- From this point forward, all players must upgrade to OB40 to play.
- Players who have not updated will be forced out if they are still in the lobby or playing after the advertised time.
Finally, unlike previous Free Fire updates, this Wednesday (31) a new version will be available for download, but the game servers will remain open and players can play with both versions.
