Those who create maps in the Creation Workshop (Craftland) of Free Fire will experience a significant change starting on August 20, 2026. The team responsible for the mode announced a new formula for calculating the points used in evolving the Creator Level, significantly reducing the importance of the number of followers and placing greater value on matches played on high-performing maps.
This change comes after the Craftland team identified users using bots and secondary accounts to artificially inflate their followers. Since this number was part of the progression calculation, the practice allowed excessive point accumulation, enabling users to reach higher levels and access privileges intended for creators who grow legitimately.
Free Fire changes the Creation Points of the Creation Workshop
In the Brazilian version of Free Fire, the term currently displayed in-game is "Creation Points". In the international announcement, the team uses the name "Craftpoints" to refer to the points considered in the Creator Level system, called in Portuguese Creator Level.
The current interface itself helps to understand the change. On the Creator Level screen, Free Fire informs that Creation Points are based on the valid sessions of the most popular maps published by the creator. The same area of the profile also displays the number of followers separately.
Starting August 20, the formula will be adjusted to place even more importance on matches from high-performing maps, while the weight of the number of followers will be significantly reduced.
The Creation Workshop will change the calculation of Creation Points on August 20, 2026, to prioritize the actual performance of maps and reduce the influence of followers on the Creator Level.
Bots and artificial followers motivated the change
According to the Craftland team's announcement, in recent weeks, cases of abuse of the Creator Level system were identified. Some users were resorting to automated bots and secondary accounts, also known as smurf accounts, to achieve large numbers of followers on their profiles.
The problem was not limited to artificially inflating the profile with high numbers. Since followers influenced the calculation of Craftpoints, the manipulation could result in more points, higher levels, and access to additional privileges.
This put those profiles at an advantage over creators whose maps gained large numbers of matches and players through legitimate engagement.
What changes in the Creation Workshop on August 20?
The team detailed five measures that will be applied to the system:
- stricter anti-cheat to combat the use of automated bots;
- new formula for Creation Points, increasing the weight of matches from high-performing maps and significantly reducing the influence of followers;
- recalculation of points for all creators using the new formula;
- creators with activity deemed legitimate maintaining the highest Creator Level already achieved;
- users identified abusing the system will have their level recalculated, potentially being demoted and receiving other disciplinary measures.
Everyone will have their points recalculated, but not everyone will lose level
One of the most important details of the announcement is the distinction between Creation Points and Creator Level. The new formula will be applied to the points of all users, but this does not mean that legitimate creators will be automatically demoted.
The team states that when the activity is legitimate, the player will maintain the highest Creator Level they have already achieved. Therefore, someone who reached a certain level under the previous rules will not lose their privileges simply because the new formula requires a different amount of points.
Protection will not be applied in the same way to accounts considered abusive. In such cases, the Creator Level will be recalculated and may decrease. The announcement also leaves open the possibility of additional penalties.
Creator Level unlocks privileges in the Creation Workshop
The change has an impact because leveling up is not just a number on the profile. The Creator Level system was recently introduced in Craftland and grants various benefits based on progression. Garena itself officially described the feature as a system where each level has a unique icon, and higher levels offer additional privileges and support to creators.
In the current screens in Portuguese, it is possible to view nine levels. When selecting higher levels, the interface shows improvements and benefits that may include increased map publishing limits, draft limits, and cost limits, as well as exclusive advantages.
In the currently displayed Level 9 in the game, for example, benefits like the possibility to participate in collaborative projects, requirements for entering the Creator Program, Global Discord, quick map analysis, displaying the level icon, and opportunities related to the Creation Workshop and Creator Platform badges appear.
This explains why artificially inflating progress could represent a real advantage over other creators: higher levels are associated with additional resources and opportunities within the Craftland ecosystem.
Maps actually played will gain more importance
The direction taken by the new formula also aligns with recent changes made by Garena in the Creation Workshop. In the previous update, the game began showing the number of sessions for each map to facilitate performance visualization and introduced the new level system for creators.
Now, the number of followers loses some of its influence, while the performance of top maps gains greater weight. This makes it more difficult to increase the Creator Level merely by accumulating followers without corresponding usage of the published projects.
The change does not mean that followers will necessarily cease to be part of the system. The announcement specifically states that their weight will be significantly reduced, not eliminated.
Change is official and starts on August 20
Unlike information found earlier in APKs or test versions, this change was communicated directly by the team responsible for Craftland. Therefore, the recalculation is set to begin on August 20, 2026.
The change also reinforces an important difference in nomenclature for Brazilian players: while the international announcement speaks of Craftpoints and Creator Level, the current interface in Portuguese uses Creation Points and Creator Level.
Free Fire Mania checked the current interface of the Creation Workshop in Free Fire to compare the announcement with the system available before the change. The screens show the Creation Points, followers, nine levels, and the privileges associated with progression, allowing a clear view of which part of the system will be affected by the new formula.
For creators using the system normally, the main consequence will be the recalculation of Creation Points without losing the highest legitimate level already achieved. Accounts identified manipulating followers or using bots may lose levels and face additional measures following the review. See also the latest news from Free Fire.
