While most Free Fire players don't care about character abilities, this is no sign of a professional player. A focused player always focuses on these smaller elements as this will make him stand out among other users in Garena 's Battle Royale.
The title features several characters whose abilities can be combined to get the best experience. Since the game's launch, the character system was able to unlock new abilities after purchasing each character using diamonds , Free Fire's main currency.
Now, starting with the Free Fire March 2022 update , the Free Fire developers will provide a link system, capable of releasing characters for free to all players. They also made a statement, where they explain the entire operation of the new system.

The character system was introduced 4 years ago. And you inspired us to take it to the max from day one. Let's take a moment to look at our way here: Our 40 characters who, with their unique skills, stories and personalities, have brought a new style to Frifas' playstyle, were inspired by our strength and diversity of our players.
You are the reason we put so much effort into enriching our storytelling and gameplay. We thank all survivors for making Free Fire more fun every day!
The origins of the link
As characters and their abilities have become a fundamental part of our game, we have realized that it is necessary to make our characters as accessible as Free Fire itself.
To do this in the best possible way, instead of doing a renovation, we decided to start from scratch in this New Era (wink) based on something that is part of the essence of our game: the deep relationship between players, characters and the Free Fire team. It is from this concept that this new system was born.
In this update, all characters (existing and future) can be unlocked for free through “BOND”.
You can tell the crowd without fear: it's real!
And how it works?
The Bonding System will allow our players to choose a character and start accumulating experience by playing. When the bond progress bar fills up, you can collect the character for free! Choose which relationship to invest in first calmly, survivors ;D
Playing matches in any mode will contribute to the bond's progress. When the progress bar is full, the character will be available to collect free of charge and permanently.
Want to rush things?
Of course, if you don't want to wait to create that bond, our store is still open 24/7 for everyone with characters and their special sets.
Remembering that it will take a little time between the launch of a new character in the game and its inclusion in the bonding system, so if you don't feel like waiting, the store remains the option to renew your troop quickly.
