The major Free Fire update officially arrived on December 19, 2017, bringing version OB6, new game mechanics, character balance adjustments, weapon tweaks, and system improvements.
This patch note was exclusively published by Free Fire Mania before the official announcement on Garena's global website.
Free Fire OB6 Update Notes
Dear players, a new update will arrive soon. To enable new features and content, the servers will undergo maintenance from 6 AM to 1:30 PM (UTC +8) on December 19. Players will not be able to log in or start a match during maintenance.
After maintenance ends, all players will need to update the Free Fire mobile app from the App Store or Google Play before they can enter the game.
What's new?
- 1. The entire island has been unlocked.
- 2. New weapon: Groza.
- 3. Added aiming assistance for holographic sights and scopes.
- 4. Aerial drops have been added.
- 5. Aerial supply drops added to deliver rare weapons and equipment.
- 6. We increased the number of players to 50.
- 7. We thought it was time for a refresh, so we introduced a completely new user interface.
- 8. Various additions to account progression (rewards for leveling up, anyone?)
Optimizations and Bug Fixes
- 1. Various quality of life improvements (sounds, footsteps, animations, etc.).
- 2. Fixed the voice chat function for automatic matchmaking matches.
- 3. Fixed an issue that prevented players from exiting a vehicle.
