Jujutsu Kaisen Partnership Event:
Awakening of Jujutsu

Free Fire update January 2026

Battle Royale: Unleash the power of Jujutsu

I am the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer!

The Cursed Energy is dominating the battlefield! Collect traces of it across all maps to unleash iconic Jujutsu Kaisen techniques. Prepare yourselves, Jujutsu Sorcerers… An unforgettable adventure is about to begin!

  • Stacks of Cursed Energy are scattered throughout the maps. Upon approaching, the player automatically collects the energy. Some stacks regenerate over time. It is also possible to gain Cursed Energy by eliminating opponents or by purchasing it from vending machines.
  • Cursed Energy can be used on the special panel to unleash powerful Jujutsus and a Cursed Instrument, bringing a whole new experience to BR matches. Available Jujutsus and Cursed Instruments:
    • Divergent Fist: Yuuji Itadori's technique. Requires 100 Cursed Energy to be released. The user quickly dashes forward to attack an opponent, dealing 30 damage, followed by a second impact dealing another 30 damage. Can destroy up to 3 Ice Walls in its path.
    • Kugisaki's Hammer: Main weapon with unlimited ammunition. Use 50 Cursed Energy to unlock Hammer Lv. 1. Evolve to Lv. 2 for 50 Cursed Energy, and to Lv. 3 for 100 Cursed Energy.
    • Purple Void: Satoru Gojou's technique. Requires 100 Cursed Energy to be released. When used, the Purple Void advances along the ground, ignoring buildings and cover. Deals 70 damage, pushes opponents, and destroys Ice Walls. Reaches up to 80m and explodes at its destination, dealing an additional 40 damage.
    • Muryou Kuusho: Satoru Gojou's Domain Expansion. Players must first spend a total of 300 Cursed Energy and then spend an additional 100 Cursed Energy to unlock the ability. When activated, it ignores cover and pulls a single opponent within range into the void, initiating a 1v1 duel. Within the domain, the user recovers all Life, receives a 5% movement speed bonus, and gains an extra 30 Shield Points. The domain lasts 30 seconds but ends immediately once a winner is determined. The defeated player is instantly eliminated.
    • Karekichuu: Jougo Technique. Requires 100 Cursed Energy to be released. When used, the player summons ember insects that automatically track the nearest opponent. The insects explode on contact, dealing 25 damage and leaving a 1m radius burning area that deals 5 damage per second for 3 seconds.
    • Fukuma Mizushi: Ryomen Sukuna's Domain Expansion. Same release conditions as Muryou Kuusho. Upon activation, the user creates a 10m radius area where the sky turns red. The domain deals 5 damage every 0.5s to all opponents within the area and 400 damage per second to opposing Ice Walls. The domain lasts 15s.
  • After unlocking all the Jujutsu techniques on the panel, their cooldown time is reduced by 10%.
  • The Respawn Points on all maps are now filled with Cursed Energy. Players revived at these locations quickly return to the action.

Jujutsu Kaisen Partnership: School

Ready to enroll, Jujutsu Wizards?

To contain the spreading Cursed Energy, Peak in Bermuda was rebuilt and has now become the Bermuda Academy. Go explore the campus, young Jujutsu Sorcerer!

  • Peak, in Bermuda, was transformed into the Bermuda School.
  • The Peak theme will also appear in Ranked CS.

Contra Squad: Jujutsu 4x4 Showdown

Expand your domain and unleash Jujutsu!

The 4x4 battles just got even more intense with Cursed Techniques like Purple Void, Divergent Fist, Karekichuu, and Domain Expansions!

  • Purple Void, Divergent Fist, Karekichuu, Fukuma Mizushi, and Muryou Kuusho are available in the CS Store and Cyber Airdrops.
  • Cybernetic Airdrops and Spawn Points with a Jujutsu Kaisen themed design.
  • Cursed Instruments, including Kugisaki's Hammer (Lv. 3), will be available in the CS Shop with the start of the new season on February 1st.

Other adjustments:

  • It is now possible to test jujutsu (except Muryou Kuusho) and Cursed Instruments on Training Island.
  • Added Jujutsu Kaisen character totems to the Island of the Party, perfect for taking photos.

Battle Royale

Destructible Shed

Break everything and embrace the risk!

The reinforced glass of the Warehouse can be cracked and destroyed. Break everything to get inside and secure valuable items. But beware: forcing entry activates a drone that reveals your position to all opponents. Will you go all out or lure the others into a trap?

  • It's possible to break the glass and enter the shed directly. But not every tool works... sometimes, only a big explosion will do!
  • Upon forcing entry, the warehouse drone is activated, revealing its position to all opponents.
  • Weapons in the Standard Barracks have changed to: Groza (infinite ammo), AWM (infinite ammo), Thompson (infinite ammo), MAC10-II, M1014-II, M14-II.
  • Weapons in the Upgraded Barracks have changed to: Groza (infinite ammo), AWM (infinite ammo), Thompson (infinite ammo), FAMAS, Extra Charge, M79 (in center racks). Side racks can hold: Kar98k, FAMAS, M60-III, Winchester-III, M4A1-III, SCAR-III, MP5-III.
  • Added 4 Level 3 Backpacks to the standard shed.
  • Cost to unlock or upgrade a Warehouse reduced from 1500 to 1200 FF Tokens.

Ultra Airdrop

Risk it all for the (best) prize!

What's the most electrifying moment in BR? The chaotic drop? The race to the safe zone? The new Ultra Airdrop could become the most dangerous point in the match. It appears at the end of the game and rewards whoever captures it with the best bonuses!

  • 400 seconds after the start of the match, 1 Ultra Airdrop drops onto the map. During capture, its location becomes visible on the minimap, so pay attention! Crystal pillars appear around the airdrop. Shoot them to destroy them and speed up the capture. Upon full capture, powerful bonuses are granted, and eliminated allies are instantly revived, helping to turn the tide of the game.
  • Capture the Ultra Airdrop to receive:
    • Ultra Helmet and Ultra Vest: offer more protection than Level 4 equipment, and their durability never drops below 25%.
    • Like Respawn Points, the Ultra Airdrop can revive eliminated allies.

Resurgence System

New tactics, new teamwork.

The fights immediately after landing are some of the most intense in the game, but being the last survivor on your team limits your options. Now, each team has a unique early respawn. If at least one ally is alive, you can bring the others back into the fight.

Soil

  • Respawn Points are available up to 610 seconds into the match. In addition to the initial one-time respawn protection, it's possible to capture a Respawn Point for 25 seconds to obtain a Revive Card, which is automatically used upon elimination. This increases the action at the start of the match and makes the mid/late game more competitive.
  • Automatic initial equipment (time-based):
    • 0-200s: Mini Uzi, 6 Medical Kits, 2 Inhalers, Level 1 Helmet, Level 1 Vest, Level 2 Backpack.
    • 200-400s: MAC10-I, 6 Medical Kits, 2 Inhalers, Level 2 Helmet, Level 2 Vest, Level 2 Backpack.
    • 400s and up: MAC10-II, 6 Medical Kits, 2 Inhalers, Level 2 Helmet, Level 2 Vest, Level 2 Backpack.

Duo / Squad:

  • Landing near allies is required to activate. When a teammate is eliminated, the team can activate a 60-second respawn countdown (only one chance per team). If the countdown is completed, all eliminated allies are revived. This team respawn can only be activated within the first 180 seconds of the match.
  • Respawn Point and Revive Card grant: M1917, 6 Medical Kits, 2 Inhalers, Lv. 1 Backpack.
  • Advanced Resurgence Point and Supreme Resurgence grant: 6 Medical Kits, 2 Inhalers, Level 2 Backpack, MAC10-I.
  • Spectator Mode Improvement: When spectating an ally, a "revival assistance" balloon appears. Tap it when your ally needs it. This grants a special discount on the purchase of Revive Cards. The ally who purchases the Revive Card also receives special bonuses.

Enhanced Alerts for Downed/Eliminated Ally

Don't let your allies be eliminated without realizing it.

When an ally is downed or eliminated, clearer visual and audible alerts help you react faster.

  • Stronger visual effects when an ally is knocked down or eliminated.
  • The portraits of allies on the team panel turn grayed out when they are eliminated.
  • A new audible alert plays when an ally is eliminated.

Vehicle Speed Boost

He got in, he sped off!

Tired of getting shot at while driving through dangerous areas? Now vehicles have a quick speed boost to help you escape danger or reach your destination faster.

  • Added a speed boost to vehicles, activated for a short period.
  • Other vehicle optimizations:
    • Vehicles now explode instantly when Life reaches 0.
    • The duration of the burning effect after the vehicle explodes has been reduced; the fire no longer causes damage to players.
    • The model of the jeep wreckage was optimized to better serve as cover.

Score Medals and Bonus Rank Points

Those who excel in Battle Royale rank up faster!

Players who perform well in Battle Royale matches earn extra rank points!

  • Your score is now displayed during BR matches. Team actions, such as assisting allies, eliminating opponents, unlocking barracks, and using loadouts, increase your score and trigger a special animation.

  • Now, during the Cyber Airdrop competition, you receive items and bonuses to better compete for the items!
  • The catch area for some Cyber Airdrops has been adjusted.
  • The Cybernetic Airdrop now has two stages, with capture progress shared between the two teams. When progress reaches the first stage, all players within the capture area receive rewards.
  • All players within the capture zone receive a damage reduction bonus. The player who unlocks the second stage retains this bonus for the rest of the round.

Discounted Weapons

Lower price, same power!

Discounted weapons may randomly appear in the CS Store, providing more tactical options for the match.

  • Now you have the chance to see the CS Store selling weapons at a discount.

Other adjustments:

  1. When a player is revived with the help of a special item (such as New Future or Helper Robot) or ability (such as Dimitri's ability), the Life bar will display special visual effects to warn other players.
  2. If a player drops the USP at the start of a round, it will no longer be automatically given in subsequent rounds.
  3. The duration of the Smoke Screen during Tactical Store reloading has been reduced to 40 seconds.

Map

Neon City

A whole new nightlife metropolis

Hidden among the portals, Neon City offers a unique nighttime visual style and new ways for survivors to quickly explore. Four Dimensional Portals appear on each map, transporting players to the mysterious Neon City. Use the other portals within the city to move quickly to different areas of the map!

  • Players can use any of the 4 Dimensional Portals scattered across the map to enter Neon City, and then use the portals within the city to instantly teleport to other areas of the map.

Characters

New character

Morse

The Undetectable
Silent and free as a mouse, Morse never leaves a trace. He moves between the real and virtual worlds, driven only by his own interests.

For players who like to flank but end up being detected when approaching opponents or setting up ambushes, Morse is here to help! His active ability, Stealth Code, puts the character in Stealth Mode: distant opponents can't see him, and he can't be detected by scanners. Use Morse in Contra Squad to flank opponents, or in Battle Royale to drive vehicles, revive allies, and buy from Vending Machines without drawing attention. Be sure to try it out!

Stealth Code

Enters Stealth Mode, during which the user becomes difficult to see by opponents beyond 16m, cannot be detected, and gains 20% speed. Meanwhile, aim assist is activated if there are opponents within 4m. Lasts up to 15s. During Stealth Mode, the user cannot fire. There is a 1s delay when exiting Stealth Mode. Cooldown: 45s.

Adjustments to Skill Balancing

Tatsuya

Previously, Tatsuya's cooldown reset every time he knocked down an opponent, making him overpowered. This allowed, for example, for quickly advancing to strategic positions early in the match without worrying about cooldowns. To reinforce the use of the ability in knockdown sequences, the reset rule has been adjusted. Now, it only resets when knocking down an opponent within 10 seconds of activation. At the same time, we reduced the base cooldown to avoid long periods of inactivity, even without knocking down anyone.

Rebel Shot
Advances rapidly for 0.3s and resets the cooldown upon knocking down an opponent within 10s of using the ability. Cooldown: 120s → 90s.

Wukong

Like Tatsuya, Wukong was still too strong due to his versatility. We adjusted the ability's reset mechanism and reduced its cooldown.

Illusion
Transforms into a bush, with a 10% reduction in movement speed, for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 120 seconds → 90 seconds. The transformation ends when Wukong attacks. Wukong's cooldown is reset upon knocking down an opponent within 10 seconds of activating the ability.

Xtreme

Compared to other rush-focused characters, Xtrema was lagging behind a bit—50 shield points weren't always enough to turn a fight around. Therefore, we've slightly increased both the Shield Points and the ability's duration, offering more flexibility in direct confrontations for Rushers.

Radical Damage
Enters Extreme Mode and instantly gains 50 → 70 temporary Shield Points for 12 → 15 seconds, during which each downed opponent restores the temporary Shield Points gained from the ability up to 70 and resets the Extreme Mode duration. When it ends, all Shield Points gained during the process will be removed. Cooldown: 75 seconds.

Other Character Adjustments

  • Nero - Ability Activation Optimization: Fixed an issue where Nero's ability could hit the ground and accidentally deactivate his own Ice Walls. Now, the creature can pass through all cover, including floors, decks, and ceilings of buildings, allowing for more flexible trapping of opponents.
  • Santino - Skill Update: The Santino mannequin can now be placed and used on the trains and tracks of Roliúde, in Solara.
  • Alok - Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue where the actual range of Alok's ability could differ from the range of the visual effects, as well as a bug where the movement speed bonus was sometimes not applied.
  • New Skill-Related Item: Added the special Skill Bonus item, which can appear in some modes.
  • New Speed Visual Effect: A special visual effect is now activated when the character reaches a certain movement speed.
  • Icon Optimization: Fixed size inconsistencies between the advantages and disadvantages icons.

Weapon balancing

Weapon Level Optimization

Clearer weapon levels during the match!

Previously, weapon levels were only shown in White/Gold/Red, but three colors didn't clearly indicate the true power of each weapon. In this update, we've added more colors to make it easier to read the power level right away.

  • Expanded level colors: White / Gold / Red → White / Light Gold / Gold / Light Red / Red
  • Definition of levels:
    • White: Weapons found on the ground / upgradeable weapons Lv. 0.
    • Light Gold: Upgradeable Weapons Lv. 1.
    • Gold: Upgradeable weapons Lv. 2 / special weapons (e.g., M79).
    • Light Red: Standard Airdrop weapons / Level 3 upgradeable weapons.
    • Red: Advanced Airdrop weapons (e.g., Groza-X).

Adjustments to weapon balancing

Explosive Weapons

Explosive weapons have become increasingly common in matches, and the excessive number of explosions has made confrontations more chaotic, as well as reducing the reliability of Ice Walls. To improve the overall experience, we have adjusted the availability of these weapons and related items.

  • FGL-24 (reduction): Cartridge capacity: 3 → 2.
  • RGS50 (reduction): Cartridge capacity: 3 → 2.
  • M590 (adjustment): Damage +10%, Range -10%, Area effect removed.

Upgradeable Weapons

Following the change in the previous update, which switched to using Evolution Chips and accumulated damage for all upgradeable weapons, we've made further adjustments and removed the evolution system from some less popular weapons.

  • Kar98k (Adjustment): Evolution mechanism removed; now has the same attributes as Kar98k-III.
  • FAMAS (Adjustment): evolution mechanism removed; now has the same attributes as FAMAS-III.
  • MAC10 / MAC10-I / MAC10-II / MAC10-III (Improvement): Damage: +8%, Accuracy: +15%.

Airdrop Weapons

Airdrop weapons should be the strongest in the match, but this advantage has been diminishing since Level 3 weapons became more accessible. To keep these weapons rare and impactful, we've increased their power in this update.

  • Groza / Groza-X (upgrade): Damage: +3%, Armor Penetration: +10%, Range: +8%.
  • SVD / SVD-Y (improvement): Accuracy: +20%.
  • M249/M249-X (improvement): Rate of fire: +5%, Armor penetration: +5%.
  • Thompson / Thompson-X (improvement): Rate of fire: +5%.

Other Balancing Adjustments

The VSS's high rate of fire made it popular, but its lower accuracy and damage made securing kills difficult. In this update, we've buffed the VSS to improve its overall performance. We've also added aim assist to the Healing Pistol to make it easier to use.

  • VSS (improvement): Armor penetration: +10%, Accuracy: +5%.
  • Healing Pistol (adjustment): Now automatically targets allies. Rate of fire: +30%, Healing: -50%, Healing energy regeneration speed: +50%, Healing energy cost: -50%.
  • Healing Pistol-Y (adjustment): Now automatically targets allies and can heal up to 2 allies at the same time. Rate of fire: +30%, Healing: -50%, Healing energy recovery speed: +50%, Healing energy cost: -50%.
