Free Fire starts punishing those who manipulate results in ranked mode

By Ronny Rolim

Free Fire has begun punishing players who manipulate the number of eliminations and match results in ranked mode. This measure came into effect on July 14, 2026, and was announced by the verified official Free Fire account in Vietnam (@freefirevnofficial) on Instagram.

According to the statement, the action aims to curb players who have been exploiting game mechanics to collude on results in Sinh tồn xếp hạng — the ranked version of the Battle Royale — and artificially forge elimination statistics and rankings.

What Garena identified

According to the publication, the company has been recording cases of players colluding on eliminations and organizing matches to manipulate the results of ranked mode, distorting the ranking in an artificial manner. This practice directly undermines the integrity of the ranked points system, which should reflect the actual performance of players.

How the punishment works

Since July 14, 2026, Free Fire has been applying the following penalties for those caught manipulating results in ranked mode:

  • First violation: the player is banned from the ranking system for 2 months;
  • Starting from the second violation: all of the player’s ranked points are reset.

Free Fire is already banning those who manipulate match results for 2 months on the first violation and resetting all points from the second occurrence.

645 accounts have already been banned

According to the statement, 645 accounts have been identified and banned from the ranking system for violating this rule. Garena states that fraudulent behavior continues to be monitored by the system and dealt with rigorously, urging players to compete fairly and respect the rules of ranked mode.

Announcement is from the Vietnamese server

It's important to highlight that this communication originated from the official Free Fire account aimed at the Vietnamese market, not from the global or Brazilian game channel. So far, there has been no official confirmation that the same punishment policy is also being applied on the Brazilian server. Free Fire Mania will monitor Garena's official channels in Brazil to check if this measure is replicated here.
