The strength and tradition of Atlético-MG will now be in the universe of electronic sports. Galo , a well-known national football team, today announced its entry into the electronic sports (eSports) scene with the creation of its new @egalooficial profile. Along with the announcement, the mining team has already tried to move forward with negotiations on CS: GO, Free Fire and PES.

Demonstrating that he is always attentive to the most diverse audiences and aware that e-Sports has been gaining more and more notoriety, Galo has partnered with Observar, manager of the Soberano Team, from São Paulo, to manage the segment.

Initially, the E-Galo will enter the Brasileirão CS: GO, which will start next Monday (17/8), but is already in advanced talks to join PES and Free Fire , in addition to studying participation in other modalities.

The creation of E-Galo reinforces the project to modernize the club that has been implemented by Atlético's Board of Directors, and will not bring costs to Galo. The expenses will be borne entirely by the manager and the sponsors raised by it.

"E-Sports is a global trend and Clube Atlético Mineiro, as a great sporting power, cannot be left out of this context", highlights Marcelo Machado, Atlético's executive superintendent.

The initiative aims to promote an even closer relationship between the club and the younger audience.

According to Newzoo, the global marketing agency specializing in the sport, global revenue from electronic sports will grow to $ 1.1 billion in 2020, with a 15.7% growth compared to 2019. Globally, the total audience of e-Sports will grow to 495 million people in 2020.

Fever in Brazil

Also according to Newzoo, Brazil is the third country in the world with the most e-Sports players - it is estimated at 66 million people - and also the third country in the world with the most enthusiasts of the sport - 7.6 million people watching professional content more than once a month.
