The Free Fire World Cup is currently known as the Free Fire Worlds Series , or simply FFWS , but it wasn't always like that, the first championship with teams from all over the world was called the Free Fire World Cup . It was played at the Bitec Bangna Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand on April 7, 2019 and the prize pool was US$100,000. The best player in the competition was Ariano “ Kroonos ” Ferreira, currently a LOUD player.

In total, there are 5 editions of the Free Fire World Cup , two of which were canceled and replaced by the Free Fire Continental Series in 2020. The next edition will take place on the 14th (classification) and 21 (final) of May, on the island of Sentosa , in Singapore.

Free Fire World Cup 2019: the first edition of the Free Fire World Cup

As previously stated, the first Free Fire World Cup was called the Free Fire World Cup and had the participation of the 12 best organizations in the scenario, divided into nine regions:

  • WAG (Vietnam)
  • Anahuac Esports (Latam North)
  • Team Teka (Latam South)

At the end of the competition, GPS Veterano was the only team that arrived in the last fall with a chance of the title, while RED Canids (ex Tropa M3C) finished in 10th place.

The first Free Fire World Cup was won by Evos and Kronos was elected the MVP of the competition.

The second Free Fire World Cup took place on November 16 at Arena Carioca 1 at Barra Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro and was the first with the name Free Fire World Series ( FFWS ). The competition had a prize pool of R$ 2 million reais and had a show by DJ Alok.

This second world marked the history of Free Fire lives and had more than 13 million views of the broadcast, even after the live was interrupted when a hacker requested a strike from the official channel.

Above all, the second world cup showed Brazil to the world afterCorinthians was crowned the champion of the competition after the historic turn-up of the Russian team Sbornaya ChR.

Free Fire World Series 2020: third and fourth worlds have been canceled

The Free Fire World Cup in 2020 was replaced by the Free Fire Continental Series (FFCS) due to the distancing measures caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The competition started on the 21st of November 2020 with the finals being played on the 28th and 29th of the same month. With three tournaments divided by regions - Americas Series, Asia Series and EMEA Series (Africa, Europe and Russia). The total prize pool was R$ US$ 300 thousand (about R$ 1.6 million) for each region.

The most recent edition of a Free Fire World Cup took place on May 28 and 30, 2021, in Singapore. Due to the strict measures at the venue to contain the spread of Covid-19, only 18 teams were able to participate in the competition. Phoenix Force, a Thai team, was crowned champion of the competition . The Brazilians from LOUD were in second place.
