Garena started making changes that should culminate in the closing of Booyah! in Brazil and in the world. According to Free Fire Mania sources, the Booyah! will no longer be updated and the employees who were part of that team have been cut.

A spokesperson for SEA LTD , the company that owns Garena , told the company that the company “ has made some changes to improve efficiency in our operations that affect multiple functions ”, saying it would focus on the “ long-term strength of our ecosystem ”.

Although Garena has not confirmed the decision to close the Booyah! platform, after the excellent numbers during the pandemic period, SEA suffered a drop of more than 72% in its share price so far only in 2022. In February, the company Garena suffered a heavy blow after Free Fire was banned in India , one of its biggest markets.

In addition to Booyah! , another platform that is part of the conglomerate in which Garena is a part, Shopee , showed the first signs of wear and tear in Brazil after a year of maintaining free shipping in the country. In June, around 50 of the approximately 1,500 employees that the company, with two offices in the city of São Paulo, claims to have here were laid off.

As if that wasn't enough, in August 2022 Booyah! terminated the contract with Cerol , the platform's biggest streamer. The Free Fire star had a two-year contract that was broken shortly after completing just 12 months.

Garena has not made any official disclosure about the closure of Booyah! , therefore fans and users of the platform should wait for an official statement from the company about the situation of its streaming platform.
