Battle Royale mobile game Garena Free Fire reached the 1 billion download mark on Google Play. Note that this number only counts the times the game was downloaded on Android systems, since the Apple store (iOS) does not officially disclose its number.

The 1 billion downloads/installs milestone was reached in just over 3 years, as Free Fire hit the market on December 17, 2017. The game was created by Vietnamese developer 111dots Studio and got an open beta in November 2017 , being officially released for iOS Android on December 4 of the same year.

According to Sensor Tower, a data analytics company, in the first half of 2021 alone, Free Fire had more than 100 million downloads worldwide.
