One of Free Fire's biggest direct competitors, PUBG mobile, took a huge dip today after being banned from India. In a statement, the Indian Ministry of Technology said that "in view of the information available they are engaged in activities that are detrimental to India's sovereignty and integrity, the defense of the country, state security and public order".

The Ministry issued orders on Wednesday to ban an additional 118 Chinese applications after banning 59 applications in the first round. The new apps include the popular PUBG Mobile game app .

Why was PUBG banned from India?

India's Cyber Crime Coordination Center has sent a comprehensive recommendation to block these malicious applications, said:

The government has received many complaints about the misuse of some mobile apps for theft and illegal transmission of user data in an unauthorized manner to servers located outside of India. The compilation of this data, its mining and profiling by elements hostile to India's national security and defense, which ultimately affect India's sovereignty and integrity.

India is PUBG's largest market, according to estimates by application intelligence firm Sensor Tower, generating about 175 million installations to date, or 24% of total downloads worldwide.
