HOW THE KALAHARI MAP WAS BORN
As soon as we launched Free Fire we knew that we had created something special with Bermuda - we are very proud of our team of developers and the success of this map, from the frenetic battles, to the loot areas and all the strategies it allows our players. In fact, Bermuda is a unique map within the Battle Royale genre. Since then, you, dear survivors, have been asking for a new map and, as we take your wishes seriously, we dedicated ourselves to the creation of Purgatory. While we believe that both maps are good, from a gameplay standpoint, we agree that Purgatory is very similar to Bermuda - which is why it was much less successful among you and soon orders for a third map started. So, we gathered what we learned by creating Purgatory, your evaluation of this map and comments on what you expected for the next one, and we started to develop Kalahari . Some of you may remember having completed surveys on the subject, while other players had the opportunity to participate in practical tests with the new map and interviews with our team; all of this helped us to better understand what you were looking for in the new map so that we could develop a new stage of battles full of covers and dynamic strategies. We spent a lot of time in research, while our art team worked to create a map that was beautiful, detailed and light, so as not to miss that special feature of the FF. Better to do a job well done at once than having to redo it, right? Kalahari is special for other reasons as well. Each area has a unique style and accompanies elements that will help you to better understand the history of that world and its events. We are very excited to integrate the history of the Free Fire world into the gameplay. We hope you enjoy these little surprises on the stage!
KILLING IN KALAHARI
You told us you wanted new and exciting experiences on this map, so we made it a little bit smaller than the previous ones, increasing the possibilities for combat, and with more areas for you and your Squad to jump and fight for loot. The availability of resources has also been adjusted to better fit the type of battle expected from a desert scenario. Kalahari also has more buildings and unevenness in the terrain, increasing the need for a more tactical game, the way you like it. In the beginning Kalahari will be available for Classic Mode before reaching the ranked . We want to see what you think of the new map and how the game will develop, so that we can adjust any detail that is necessary before taking it to the ranks. In addition, the map was carefully thought out to receive the survivors' favorite game mode: Contra Squad! We are excited to see what you guys are going to come up with on this new map!
Kalahari will be available from February 28th. If you think your Squad is ready to hit the desert, don't forget to share your strategies and experiences on your favorite social network and with your friends. See you on the next Developers Blog! Free Fire Developer Team.
