Mobile games have grown at a fast pace in recent years. Titles like Free Fire, Garena's most successful game with 100 million players active in a single day, have had tremendous success in revenue and downloads.

Last year, the title was the most downloaded mobile game in the Battle Royale genre. The game also won the Mobile Game of the Year at the Esports 2020 awards.

Despite the unparalleled success, the developers of Free Fire have faced several problems in relation to the rampant use of hacks used to gain an unfair advantage in the game.

To combat this, Free Fire took several steps and built an "anti-hack " system that detects cheaters and banned players who insist on using them. They also allowed their player base to report suspicious players.

Free Fire developers have also published biweekly reports to release statistics on the number of banned accounts. In 2020 alone, developers banned more than 30 million accounts for using a hack .

Free Fire officials recently issued a "Anti Ban " notice listing the circumstances in which a player may be banned in the game. Here they are:

  • 1. Use a modified or unauthorized game client.
  • 2. Use unauthorized tools that interact with the Free Fire game client.
  • 3. Use unofficial programs to gain an advantage in the game.
  • 4. Modify texture files to obtain unfair advantages. Example: Nicoo Free Fire .
  • 5. Use flaws or bugs to explore the gaming experience.
  • 6. Being reported by multiple players and detected by abnormal gameplay simultaneously.
  • 7. Bypass the Free Fire "anti-hack " system by transferring illegal local data.

With this move, Free Fire wants to make it clear that it will not tolerate the use of unfair means. The officials also said they were committed to creating a fair playing environment for their players.

Officials also advised players not to partner with cheaters to avoid being banned and reminded them not to use hacks.
