The release of the Free Fire August 2021 (OB29) update is fast approaching, and players are looking forward to its arrival. There's a plethora of new content waiting for them, and based on the leaked update notes, a new weapon, mode and other changes are on their way to Garena's Battle Royale.

FF Gladiators - New Mode x1
New "x1 mode" available from August 5th at 3:00 am (Brasilia time).
"We present to you FF Gladiators, Frifas' new x1 mode in a map made especially for him: the Steel Coliseum! There are nine rounds to decide who is the best in this clash! Can you survive the Steel Coliseum?! "

Season 8 of Ranked CS
Season 8 of Ranked Contra Squad starts on August 5th at 06:00 am (Brasilia time).
"Season 8 of Ranked CS is coming! Reach rank Gold III or higher and get the ranked special item - the Golden AN94!"
The new season will be available from August 5th to September 29th, 2021.

"We know that it is difficult to ask for help from your teammates to buy a weapon in the Contra Squad. From this update on, you will be able to ask for this help without creating any problems for anyone: your teammates will be able to buy it directly for your backpack."

Patent Points Adjustments
Patent Difficulty Adjustment.
"Since we introduced the revive system, rising in rank has become more difficult - as your opponents manage to get back into battle. The point calculation will be adjusted in Battle Royale to ensure it is less difficult to earn rank points."
Increased average rank points earned in Battle Royale.
FF tokens
HUD visualization optimization.
"You've told us that it's very difficult to know how many FF Tokens you have in your Backpack during the game. Well, you won't need to count token by token anymore: we've added a pocket in your Backpack that will count the tokens for you."

Character and Pets
New - Dimitri
New character available.
"We're happy to introduce one of the new Free Fire faces in this update: Dimitri! His ability, Heal Slam, is an active skill that lets you lift your teammates up without having to leave the battle."
Dimitri's Ability: Heal Slam (Active). Creates a 3.5m area that restores 3 health per second for the entire team. If there are limbs lying down, allow them to stand up by themselves. Lasts for 10/11/12/13/14/15 seconds. Recharge time 85/80/75/70/65/60 seconds.

New - Thiva
New character available.
"The other new feature in the update is our dear Thiva. Like Dimitri, he is able to help fallen comrades quickly. His ability, Raising in Slam, decreases the time it takes to raise companions, allowing them to be rescued in danger situations."
Thiva Skill : Raising on Hit (Passive). The speed to raise companions increases by 5/8/11/14/17/20%. Thiva regains 15/20/25/30/35/40 health for 5 seconds when he manages to lift someone.

jota
Skill Update.
"It's been difficult to use Jota's ability as taking down an opponent lying down is a high-risk situation. We've reworked this ability to expand Jota's possibilities on the battlefield."
Ability Safe Attack : Hitting opponents with weapons restores health to Jota and killing opponents restores 10/12/14/16/18/20% maximum health.
Luqueta
Skill Update!
"The rout by Luqueta doesn't recover enough life to be worth the risk of taking down opponents. That's why we've fixed some details so that the risk is worth the result of the rout."
Strike Skill : Each kill increases the maximum health by 8/10/12/14/16/18 -> 10/13/16/19/22/25, maximum by 35 -> 50.
Shani
Skill Update!
"At the moment, Armor Recycling takes too long, which causes most survivors to simply collect new armor. So we've tweaked things so we don't have to change armor all the time."
Armor Recycling Skill : Recover 10/12/14/16/18/20% -> 10/12/15/19/24/30% in armor durability after each kill. Extra durability can improve your armor up to level. 3.
Alvaro
Skill Update!
"Despite recent developments in the Art of Demolition, this was not enough for Alvaro to regain his popularity in battle. His skill will be slightly enhanced for the results to be more explosive."
Skill Art of Demolition : Weapon damage per explosion increases by 6/8/10/12/14/16% -> 10/12/14/16/18/20%.
New Pet - Wheat Master in the area!

Tongue Rolling Skill : Reduces the duration of marks made by opponents.

New Weapon - AC80
New weapon available.
"Meet the AC80, the new sniper rifle available in Battle Royale Mode and Contra Squad. Its piercing shots will prove to be a challenge at the height of vests and armor on the island."
- Damage base: 50
- Rate of fire: 0.45
- Cartridge: 10
- Accessories: Gun muzzle, stock, grip.
Piercing Shots : The second round of damage with the AC80 will deal extra damage.
M4A1 (X/Y/Z)
Weapon upgrade available.
"The M4A1 is all ready for this update. With the M4 Chips it is possible to update it to its X, Y and Z versions."
It is now possible to use Chip M4 to update M4A1.
UZI
Weapons adjustment.
"With its few shots, the Uzi has proven to be too risky a secondary weapon compared to its peers. It is getting some tweaks to make it more reliable in times of need."
- Minimum damage: +8
- Increased cartridge: +2
- Effective Reach: +10%
XM8
Weapons adjustment.
"With the most limited aim and relatively low damage among assault rifles, the XM8 hasn't been much in demand in battle. So that it doesn't get left behind, this update brings some new additions to this classic."

Weapons Tuning!
"The SPAS12 is definitely one of the weakest weapons on the island right now. As Free Fire believes in giving everyone a chance, it will be given extra space for accessories to make it more competitive and versatile."

Weapons adjustment.
"Even twice as much, you need to be able to take distance to deal with your opponents with the Vector. The range and movement speed with this darling will be adjusted to make her more viable in rushadan."

- Shotgun Nozzle : +1 bullet in each projectile.
- Submachine Gun Nozzle : Minimum range for damage +1; range +1; the third shot deals 1.2x damage.
- Assault Rifle Cartridge : Increased rate of fire, magazine size -15%

"Mouthroom brings a new damage dynamic to the SMG. Overall, you'll find that submachine guns without attachments are more reliable at the start of the match."
Increased effective range for MP40, P90, Thompson, Vector and MP5.
Mouth
Accessory adjustment.
"The effective range provided by the muzzle will be reduced so there is no imbalance with weapons without muzzle space."
Effective range provided by reduced nozzle for submachine guns and shotguns.
double cartridge
Weapons adjustment.
"With the last update's tweaks, the Dual Cartridge got a little bit of appeal compared to the rest. So in this update it will be reduced to make it more consistent with your peers."
- Cartridge size: +60%->+40%.
camouflaged garnet
Item adjustments.
"Despite all the possibilities that the camouflaged grenade idea offers, the version we've been looking at can't quite live up to what we expected of it. It will become a little more realistic and smarter in this update. Now it's about using the best strategy to distract the opponent ."
Camouflaged Grenades will be revealed on the minimap as players and will start making noise.
System and gameplay
Lobby - Home Screen
New face, new clothes!
"It's been a long time since we ventured into our beloved lobby. So get ready, this update looks different! We've relocated some functions and adjusted the size of the buttons to make it easier for everyone to navigate and understand. Don't forget to tell us What did you think!"

"Many of you commented that you prefer to drag the button to run - rather than touch it. As of this update you will be able to choose your favorite option in the settings."

Elite Missions Adjustments.
"One of the new navigation features is the quests. Now you can find them all together in the Elite Quests menu."

Optimizations and troubleshooting
- Likes received during the match will be displayed on the match results page;
- Consistency between icon and adjusted SMG ammo;
- Fixed issue: Contra Squad “Waiting for players” warning will no longer continue on screen after teams are formed;
- When choosing the option to hide your pet, you will also hide your pets from your teammates;
- Ammo types that cannot be used with available weapons will be shown in the Backpack;
- Bomb Transparency in Bomb Squad reduced;
- Removal of the Advanced Accessories interface;
- Added audible notification when leader starts searching for match;
- Optimized multiple kill announcement;
- It is no longer possible to bring bombs to the Combat Zone on Training Island;
- Waiting Line for the Fight Ring on Training Island;
- Contra Squad stores were named;
- Simplified kill timeline available in Contra Squad;
- The pop-up notification when activating the Fatal Speed skill will no longer appear;
- Battle style tags collected during the match will appear on the match results page.
